HAWKEYE LAND COMPANY was formed in 1985 with the acquisition of various property interests of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company's property in Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota, and Missouri.
With our acquisition of former railroad real estate we also purchased the easement granting rights for our property holdings. We continue to grant easements for utility installations throughout the Midwest on abandoned railroad property and property currently being operated by several railroad companies including the Union Pacific Railroad, Iowa Interstate Railroad, CSX Transportation and Iowa Northwestern Railroad Company. In addition to railroad property acquisitions Hawkeye Land Company owns and offers for lease various real estate opportunities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Savanna, Illinois.
